England may have benefitted from a Russian linesman in 1966 to win the World Cup.
But Scotland are today still moaning about the free kick awarded to Italy in injury time that presented Panucci the chance to end Scotland's braveheart qualifying campaign.
Alex McLeish wants the linesman removed from UEFA's top rated officials but he's very quick to forget about the help provided to his side earlier in the game.

We would all agree that Alan Hutton was the one fouled by Giorgio Chiellinito not the other way around.
But Scotland should have been 2-0 down by the time Panucci headed in his injury time winner.

Firstly, Italian midfielder Antonio Di Natale was onside when he struck a second goal only to see the linesman had his flag up!
Secondly, Barry Ferguson was clearly standing in an offside position when he struck his side's equaliser in the second half.

So for Scotland players and management to come out and complain about referee decisions, doesn't quite wash with me.

Scotland did a fantastic job to take their qualifying hopes to their final game. But you can't keep blaming the officials.
