Sutton clinch Premier title

Congratulations to Sutton-on-Hull who have claimed the East Yorkshire Cricket Alliance Premier Division Championship despite losing their game against Fenner.

They needed two points and picked up seven from the game. Patrington finished runners up after their victory at Driffield.

Last year's champions, North Ferriby finished third.

Fenner are fourth.

Airmyn are fifth after beating Kirk Ella and Beverley Town sixth after their victory against Hutton Cranswick.

The remaining game saw South Holderness thrash an under strength Hessle.

Hutton Cranswick and Eastrington fill the bottom two places and will be relegated to Division One.

Kirk Ella scored 182 all out when they visited Airmyn with B Green (68) and James Brewis (44) leading the way while Jeremy Seller took 4 for 58 for the hosts.

Airmyn reached their target for the loss of six wickets with Phil Sparks (54) and Rob Holah (39) seeing them home. Patrington scored 210 for 5 when they visited Driffield with Mark Pollard top scoring with 73.

Driffield were all out for 145 in reply. Sutton-on-Hull batted first when they visited Fenner and scored 200 for 5 with John Matthews (62), Duncan Petfield (56) and Joe Ashdown (42) all making useful contributions while Ryan Preen took 3 for 23 for the hosts.

Fenner looked to be in trouble at 97 for 7 with Lee Sinclair including a hat trick in his 6 for 64.

A stand of 95 between Graham Williamson (114) and Mike Laws (32 not out) guided Fenner home with two wickets to spare.

Hutton Cranswick were all out for 92 when they entertained Beverley Town with Keiren O'Brien taking 5 for 50. Beverley reached their target for the loss of two wickets.

Hessle batted first when they visited South Holderness and were bowled out for just 70 with T Walkington (23 not out) being the only batsman to trouble the bowling of Rich Rosindale (5 for 25).

Phil Hill scored 35 not out as Holderness reached their target without loss.

Congratulations to Hull Ionians Coal Exporters on clinching the Division One championship after getting maximum points after Roos conceded their game.

Cottingham are runners up and will be promoted to the Premier Division after their win at Patrington.

Newland claim third spot after their comfortable victory at Sutton and Hill Top finish fourth after beating North Ferriby. Wawne ended a disappointing season with a victory at Humbleton.

North Ferriby scored 135 all out when they visited Hill Top with Shaun Drury (27), Matt Dennison (26) and John Tweddle (25) being the main contributors while Gavin Wilkinson (4 for 8) and Simon Mould (3 for 25) were the pick of the home side's bowling.

Wilkinson completed a good day by scoring 46 not out as Hill Top won with six wickets to spare, with Paul Hemmerman adding 25. Humbleton batted first when they entertained Wawne and were all out for 102 with Adam Bond top scoring with 23.

Wawne cruised to an eight-wicket victory with Paul Coneyworth (69 not out) and Neil Margerison (25 not out) seeing them home.

The Cottingham batsmen were in excellent form when they visited Patrington with Byron Parker starring with 120 in their total of 256 all out.

James Brown added 35 and Will Rhodes (26) while Dave Vickers (3 for 41) and Glen Ratcliffe (3 for 49) took the bowling honours.

Patrington put up a spirited fight with Ian Buss (62), Ratcliffe (28) and Rich Vickers (26) leading the way in their total of 192 all out.

Stuart Hilton (3 for 60) and Danny Moss (3 for 22) were the most successful of the Cottingham bowlers.

Sutton-on-Hull were all out for 124 when they entertained Newland.

Martin Nicholson top scored with 28 while John Batte was the pick of the Newland bowling taking 5 for 40.

Paul Duncalf (48) and Matthew Hall (44 not out) led Newland home to an eight-wicket victory.

Congratulations to Beverley Town on winning the Division Two championship after their demolition job on Patrington.

Hull Ionians Coal Exporters have taken the runners up and second promotion spot.

Patrington batted first and were all out for 121 when they visited Beverley Town with E Taylor top scoring with 49 while 15 year Matthew Novis taking 7 for 22.

Ben Fish (71 not out) and John Broekhuizen (44 not out) saw Beverley home to a 10 wicket victory and the championship.

Kirk Ella scored 238 all out when they entertained Skirlaugh thanks to a century opening stand between Stuart Branton (91) and Marc Bertano (55).

Steve Bartlett took 4 for 59 for the visitors. Bartlett completed a good day's work by scoring an unbeaten 88 and Ben Irwin added 60 as Skirlaugh closed on 223 for 6 to earn a draw.

East Halton just missed out on the Division Three runners up spot after losing to champions, Hessle.

The runners up spot goes to Cherry Burton who finished three points clear of East Halton.

Sutton-on-Hull were all out for 86 when they visited Brigg Town with Stu Smith taking 5 for 21.

Brigg also found runs hard to come by against the bowling of M Lucas (6 for 19) but with D Dewfall scoring 38 they edged home with one wicket to spare.
