Boxing: Former Tiger Curtis promises to put on a show (video)
The Ex-Tiger will return to the city later this month as the Driffield-born 29-year-old makes his boxing debut in Hull.
Woodhouse will top the bill at the David Coldwell promoted event at the Gemtec Arena on November 27, with local fighters Sonny Pollard, Kevin Hooper and Harry Matthews also involved.
Rapidly rising through the ranks of the fight game, Woodhouse is hoping to win over a new legion of fans.
And ahead of his welterweight clash with Dean Hickman, he is confident of giving a performance of note.
"Training has been going great so far, my sparring has been going well and I am getting the rounds under my belt," he told the Mail.
"I feel in good shape and come two weeks time I will be ready to rumble.
"Every one of my fights so far I like to think they have all been value for money.
"I have knocked a few people down in my fights. I like to come forward and throw a few shots and I don't mind taking a few hits in the process. I'm coming to Hull to put on a show."
Three years after launching his boxing career with a routine win against Dean Marcantonio, Woodhouse is preparing for his 12th pro bout.
Still playing football for Harrogate Town, he has kept himself busy in the ring as his boxing career starts to take off.
Defeat last time out against Jay Morris in Belfast only seems to have galvanised the committed boxer.
But with the big-hitting Hickman next up, Woodhouse knows he needs to raise his game if he is to bounce back.
"Dean is a big puncher, he knocked the current English champion out in two rounds, he beat the Commonwealth Champion over six rounds, so I know he is a good fighter who can punch," added Woodhouse.
"I am expecting a really tough fight but in two weeks time I will have more than enough for him.
"I like to have a fight, which Hickman likes to do too, so that is what I am expecting.
"I expect us to stand in the middle of the ring and go for it and I expect to knock him out.
"The defeat in my last fight has already gone out of my mind. That is all part of boxing, even though I don't think I lost the fight and I felt like I came out on top.
"I didn't get the decision that time but better fighters than me have lost fights and come back.
"I need to look no further than my gym mate Ryan Rhodes for inspiration. He has lost four fights in his career, but two weeks ago he became European Champion. There is my inspiration."
Tickets for the event are available now from the Gemtec box office on 01482 304800, or by ringing 07969026967
