HULL KR: Exclusive – I'Anson agrees new deal

CHAZ I'Anson has been rewarded for his impressive displays last season with a new one-year deal at Hull KR.

And coach Justin Morgan says he expects the 22-year-old to continue his development and push for a more regular first team spot.

Stepping in on numerous occasions last season, I'Anson emerged as a reliable understudy to Paul Cooke at stand-off.

It included a particularly impressive display when in KR's early-season victory at St Helens, their first win at Knowsley Road since 1982.

And Morgan believes there is better to come from the promising youngster.

"Chaz developed very well in the first team last season," Morgan told the Mail.

"He has matured very well as a player and as a person and I expect him to improve further.

"We will move him back into his more favoured pivotal positions of half back or loose forward.

"I expect him to have the same rate of progress next season.

"I'm very glad he's staying with us because he is a smart rugby league player and a good person to have around.

"He played in half of our games so the challenge is there for him to build on that and make even more of a contribution next season."

I'Anson joined Rovers from Leeds Rhinos in August 2007.

He made his Super League debut in the final game of that season in the 25-24 win over Huddersfield Giants.

Since then he has played 23 Super League games, scoring three tries and helping Rovers to 11 wins.

Last season he appeared at hooker, centre and second row for Rovers as well as half-back and loose forward.
