HULL KR: I'm not the finished article
In four scarcely believable years at Hull KR, the 34-year-old has carved out a reputation as the brightest young coach in the British game.
Leading the Robins into Super League for the first time and building a team capable of finishing fourth in 2009, Morgan is undoubtedly a man destined for serious success at some stage in his career.
So it should come as no surprise that the Australian has been tipped by outgoing coach Tony Smith as his perfect successor as England coach.
But while he's being touted as the next big thing, Morgan himself knows his limitations.
"I am not the finished product," he told the Mail.
"I have gone away just like the players have and I have reflected on last season and some areas where I can get better and make some better decisions.
"Hopefully, I am going to be able to do that.
"I am focusing on certain aspects of my coaching to make me better."
With the ink on a new three-year deal at Craven Park still drying out, it is clear the England situation hasn't distracted Morgan from his job at Rovers.
And it is hard to believe he would be willing to leave the Robins should the offer come from the RFL.
Having been back in training with the Robins for just a month, Morgan is already bouncing with excitement at the challenge ahead.
And he is already setting himself – and his players – tough new challenges and targets for the campaign ahead.
"I have more expectations of myself," he said.
"I want to make some more adjustments and improvements and the team we have got can mix it with the best teams in the competition.
"It's not just the people on the terraces that want us to do well. I have huge expectations.
"I am feeling good and you have to try and be a better coach with every week that passes. If you do that you are going in the right direction."
