Lions edge close Wyke clash
For the first quarter of the game, it was a scrappy affair, with both teams having to dig the ball out of the mud.
On 20 minutes, Costello made the breakthrough when good work from James Nelson put Reece Egan in to score a fine goal.
Five minutes later, Beverley found themselves level and then went ahead deep into injury time in the first half after a lapse in concentration by the Costello defence.
In the second half, Costello clawed their way back into the game when a great shot from Jack Wilburn nestled in the top corner for 2-2.
With the bit between the Wolverines teeth, they pushed hard for the winner.
Despite the heroics of both centre backs, Tommy Middleton and man of the match Jack Lister, the Costello defence were caught on the break, and although the ball was cleared, it ended up in the back of the net from a free header from the resulting corner.
