Rivermen bounce back in style
Solihull's giant star forward Foday Nabay broke through after 90 seconds to set up the first goal.
Kingston replied with strong pressure from Jack Sewell and after six minutes Katie Marsden tapped in a rebound from a saved Sewell shot.
Solihull came back at Kingston but were denied three times by Kingston goalie Thomas Weatherley.
Kingston then took the lead with Braden Jennings pounced on a rebound from an Alfie Glenn shot and a minute later Cain Taylor and Jack Sewell broke through the Solihull defence for Taylor to score.
Sewell then scored his first goal, taking the puck down the ice and firing into the top corner, before Solihull got a goal back when one of Nabay's long shots slipped under Weatherley's pads.
But 20 seconds later Taylor and Sewell linked up again only for Sewell's shot to be well saved before Taylor fired home the rebound to end the period 5-2 to Kingston.
Solihull started the second period with all guns blazing and after several long shots by Nabay he scored twice more to narrow the lead.
Kingston defended valiantly with Tom Stubley and Susanna Pearson leading the defensive lines of Beth Barwell, Harry Mays, and Reaghan Taylor against strong Solihull pressure.
After two minutes, Pearson won the puck and found Sewell unmarked who took the puck down the ice to reinforce the Kingston lead at 6-4 at the end of the period.
Kingston changed tactics in the third period and concentrated on heavily marking Nabay, whilst Thomas Weatherley in the net had got the measure of the long shots he was firing in.
Eventually, the Kingston tactics paid off and nine minutes into the third period they scored two short-handed goals from Glenn and Marsden to bring the score to 8-4.
At this point frustration took over Solihull's Nabay and he was ejected from the game for a serious breach of the rules against a Kingston player.
Having to play the rest of the game a player short and without their star forward, Solihull collapsed letting in six goals in the last 5 minutes.
Glenn scored two and Carla Clark volleyed the puck in before Finlay Ulrick scored from Braden Jennings and Aiden Strangeway assists.
Marsden then bagged her hat-trick with three seconds left in the game, taking the puck around everybody on the ice before slotting home.
