BEVERLEY Whitestar Bulldogs boosted their chances of gaining promotion to the Myton League with a 3-2 win away to previously unbeaten title rivals Rockford Rangers under-13s.

Bulldogs started well and took the game to their hosts, pinning them back in their own half for the first 15 minutes.

As time passed Rockford eventually found their feet with a great ball from Ben Bovill finding Craig McCall, who eased the ball in for 1-0.

Bulldogs hit straight back and Jordan Day controlled the ball well and fired home a superb shot from outside the box to level.

Five minutes before half time, Danny Williams' corner was met by Bovill, whose header went between the near post and defender into the back of the Beverley net for a 2-1 half-time lead.

Bulldogs got themselves back into the match within the first five minutes of the second half.

A through ball into the box was chased by Tom Christie but the home defender tried to clear and sliced the ball into his own net.

Both teams had lots of chances but Rockford were stronger in the second half, hitting the woodwork twice.

Joseph Richardson in the Bulldogs goal also made some superb saves in the second half to keep the scores level, while McCall also went close.

Just two minutes from time, Josh Clackstone broke through and won a penalty for Beverley. Clackstone brushed himself down and fired home superbly to give Bulldogs all three points.

HAT-TRICKS from Connor Spence and Ryan Forrest helped Beverley Whitestar Tigers under-13s on their way to a third consecutive victory and continued their run of good form in the Drypool League.

A 10-man Preston side battled hard to keep the Tigers at bay, but after 10 minutes Ashton Needley's well-placed cross into the penalty area was hammered home by Spence for the opening goal.

A few minutes later Spence, who was on fire throughout the whole game, crossed for Forrest to open his account.

The Tigers were now well in control of the game and a thunderous shot from Adam Williamson left the Preston keeper little chance to make it 3-0.

In the second half, Bailey Spooner came on to make his debut in the Tigers defence.

Forrest added a fourth, before Needley scored the goal of the game, when he ran from his own half through the Preston midfield and defence to beat the keeper.

By now it was all one-way traffic, with Spence making penetrating runs through the Preston defence.

He added two more for his hat-trick before Forrest scored from a corner to get his third.

An EXCELLENT team performance from TST Tigers kept them at the top of the Myton League with a 4-0 victory over Costello Cobras under-13s.

The Tigers found it hard in the first 15 minutes fighting hard against the wind and a determined Costello side.

Joe McFadyen came close on two occasions before Matty Turner opened the scoring for the Tigers.

Ben McGregor played a great through ball for Turner and after great work down the left he played in Thomas Saxby for the goal of the game.

Soon after, Turner scored his second goal making it 3-0.

TST then dominated the second half with McGregor running the midfield and Callum Rundle sweeping up everything at the back.

With constant pressure in the Costello half, McFayden eventually scored his first and the Tigers' fourth.
