SPRINGHEAD FC goalkeeper Tommy Darley produced a superb save at the death as his side held on for a 2-2 draw with St Andrews in the Myton League.

After early pressure from St Andrews, they opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a well taken goal from a through ball.

Both keepers were kept busy and it was Springhead who almost equalised from a penalty, but St Andrews' goalkeeper pulled off a great save from the spot.

However, it was not long before Springhead drew level and a great passing move saw Elliot Gay beat the keeper with a fierce shot.

As half-time approached it was St Andrews who took the initiative when a corner was only half cleared and a shot from 20 yards went into the top corner.

In the second half, both sides created chances but it was a move down the right by Springhead which resulted in Alex Money finishing off the move that brought the equaliser.

Springhead then came the close to going ahead only for Bradley Turner to hit the bar after a great strike.

St Andrews almost snatched the winning goal in the last minute and it took a great save from man of the match Darley to prevent them taking the spoils.

BEVERLEY Town Warriors came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw with title chasing Hessle Sporting A under-12s in the Myton League.

Hessle started stronger and took the lead after 10 minutes with a crisp angled shot.

This sparked Town into action and a Harry Headley shot brought them level.

Town dominated the rest of the first half, only for Hessle to regain the lead early in the second half when a deflected cross fell kindly for a tap in.

The visitors had the chance to seal the game with a penalty but keeper Tom Norton saved from Ben Hinchcliff and kept out the follow up.

Town deserved their equaliser from a looping Tom Bolton shot which the keeper could only parry towards the goal with George Cooper making sure the ball hit the net.

Hessle rallied and Norton pulled off an excellent save to ensure a hard-earned draw.

HALL Road Rangers under-12s got back to Myton business after seven weeks without a league game and saw off Withernsea Tigers 12-0 away from home thanks to six goals from harry Butler.

Rangers didn't take long to get into their stride with Danny Symes reacting first to a loose ball in the area, after good work from Joseph Carrol and George Stafford, to put Rangers ahead.

They soon doubled their lead when Carrol burst through from the left to calmly finish past the keeper.

Butler then won the ball in the Tigers area, twisted and turned, before striking home and the Rangers striker added a quick second after latching onto a defence splitting pass from Kenny Hardy to make it 4-0.

George Watts got the fifth after a good cross by Conor Noble, before Butler almost sealed his hat-trick only to see his superb bicycle kick go just wide.

After the break, Butler was played in by Stafford to seal his treble before scrambling in his fourth and setting up Watts for a simple tap in.

The Rangers keeper denied Kenny Hardy twice before he saw a shot from the edge of the area find the inside of the post and into the net.

Butler grabbed two more, before captain Stafford finished the scoring after a goal-mouth scramble.

SOUTH Cave Juniors under-12s moved within a point of second place in the Myton League thanks to a 9-0 win over Brooklands Juniors.

Cave got off to a flying start when Nathan Davies' cross was flicked on by James Sidwell to Ryan Gledhill, who slammed the ball home.

Soon after the kick off, James Wilkinson played in Gledhill for his second, before Sidwell made it 3-0 shortly afterwards.

Sidwell followed this up with his second with a good shot into the top left corner of the net to make it 4-0 to Cave.

Jonny Beharrell then fired in a perfect corner to Wilkinson, who side-footed the fifth into the net.

Brooklands fought on and had some good chances themselves but Cave's keeper Bradley Cross pulled off some fine saves to deny them.

Davies then latched onto a loose ball and ran down the right-hand side and fired a scorcher of a shot into the top right corner to make it 6-0 and Beharrell also scored from distance soon after for the seventh.

After the break, a much-changed Cave side added two more goals through Gledhill, for his hat-trick, and Wilkinson with another shot fired in from distance.
