Eagle keeps Finch in contention

Friday, February 12, 2010, 14:43

RICHARD Finch is well placed to mount a challenge for the Avantha Masters in India after a second successive three under par 69.

The highlight of the round for the Hull golfer was an eagle three, his first of the season, on the 538-yard par five sixth.

Either side of that Finch dropped a shot in an otherwise steady round.

Just as it looked as though he wasn’t going to make any headway, birdies at 14, 15 and 18 saw him climb to 17th, four shots behind learder Barry Lane, who shot a second successive 67.

With many of the world’s top golfer missing from this tournament, Finch will feel confident of landing his third tour title.
