Hull City: Horton to leave as part of Dowie deal

Wednesday, March 17, 2010, 10:03

REPORTS this morning have suggested that Hull City assistant manager Brian Horton is to leave the club to make way for new manager Iain Dowie to bring in his own backroom staff.

Horton, who worked as Phil Brown's number two for two-and-a-half years in his second stint at the Tigers, will leave the club today, according to Sky Sports News.

It will see Iain Dowie bring in his own backroom team of former Blackburn manager Tim Flowers and ex Bolton assistant Steve Wigley, says Sky Sports.

City are still to officially confirm Dowie's appointment or Horton's departure, with a press conference scheduled at the KC Stadium for 11am.
