No stranger to Phil Brown, having worked under him on loan at Bolton, the France international returned for a second stint in the English game. He turned down moves to Sampdoria and Borrussia Dortmund in favour of Hull City and was often the Tigers most promising player in attack, thanks to his pace out wide. Often used off the bench for impact, Mendy was an effective member of the City squad in their first season in the top flight. Six years with Paris Saint-Germain saw him earn four international caps at right-back.
