Keen to head to England in the summer of 2008, the versatile Guinea international had training spells with both Everton and Newcastle. But on transfer deadline day in August, the defender sealed a surprise loan move to Hull City from Swiss club Young Boys Berne. Zayatte agreed a deal to stay at the KC Stadium for one year and made his debut in the 2-1 win over Newcastle. A solid performer throughout the season, he then signed a long term deal as he established himself at the heart of the Tigers back four alongside Michael Turber. As a regular in the Guinea international side, Zayatte also harbours hopes of reaching the 2010 World Cup.
