PROFILE:

Height: 6ft 3in Weight: 16st 1lb Local lad who is becoming a fans’ favourite with his honest performances. After struggling to score in previous campaigns, he ended the 2006 season with an impressive five tries. Netherton gets on with his job without any fuss and gets through a tremendous amount of work. Played amateur rugby for West Hull before joining Leeds. Two games into his comeback following wrist surgery, he dislocated his shoulder in the 22-20 defeat at Wakefield. He returned to the squad in the 52-10 defeat to St Helens at Knowsley Road and finished the season strongly. However, he failed to score and was made to do the dreaded 'naked run' at the end of the season. Signed a new two year contract in August 2009.
